i kinda like the 10,000 hours rule. it states that in order to excel in a particular field or interest, one would have to spend 10,000 hours working on it.
i was thinking whether that applies to yugioh? since it had been tested and proven by many pros from different fields, most evident in sports i believe.
of course, we cannot rule out the possibility of having the genius genes in you. but then again, its "1% inspiration, 99% perspiration".
would really investing 10,000 hours in yugioh makes you much better that you can simply sweep all the major official tournaments?
whats your take? some things for you to ponder. haha!

Yugioh is still very luck based
no matter how good you are, all someone needs to do is rip that Averice or Reborn and you can loose the game
It is the reason i think there are so many 'Pro's' that rarely win events
Decks arn't consistent enough to rely on just skill and that luck factor will consistently play a major part on winning or loosing in sticky situations
10,000 hours on Duelingnetwork will turn yugis into yamis!!!! becuz of all the BS and duels you have to deal with =O
But yea, I believe in the 10,000 thing.
but would have consistent training in ygo helps you to top tournaments more? i guess so right?
there is a saying which im not sure where i heard it from "luck comes with skill". =p
So true!! It took me close to 10000 hours, aka 1 year+ to win my first tournament...
It takes a long time, and people who say Yu-Gi-Oh! only is luck have never won anything. Notice how only the bad players ever complain that the game is luck-based? (Except those times when the format sucks, such as the Frog FTK format)
