Orient Dragon

Excellent card in my opinion. especially for dandy.HOHO!

WIND/Dragon - Synchro/Effect/6/2300/1300
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned, target 1 face-up Synchro Monster your opponent controls, banish that target.

Out of a sudden, debris dargon doesnt seem to be so lonely anymore.

and we dont have to rely on iron chain dragon, or maybe we have something more powerful to it.

First thing that catches your eye of course is its banish effect to banish a synchro monster which is face up.

next thing you would realize is that its effect is mandatory.which means no messing with timing issue. how nice!

however, targeting effect is not really that great when your opponent has book of moon etc. once its target is gone, its effect just fizzles.

i have personally LOVE cards that are able to banish cards from play. totally no grave, no reborn for you. which is very devastating. hence until now, i am waiting for dear BMOC to come back.LOL.

though it doesnt have a decent attack of 2500 like that of iron chain, its effect has more than cover for its weakness. just imagine taking revenge on your opponent's trishula, stardust, scrap dragon etc.

another generic card i believe.

At a lost

Sigh...national qualifier is coming up and i have not even decided what deck to play let alone train on it.

end up, playing dota and never even bothered to train at DN. which isnt what i should be doing at the moment.

Come on give me a sign what deck i should be playing!

Major change to card text!

Just some changes to the new card text which means ruling etc clearer, however, the new phrasing reminds me of MAGIC THE GATHERING.LOL.

taken from konami website:  http://www.konami.com/yugioh/articles/?p=2915#more-2915

1. ‘Remove from play’ is now ‘Banish’

The phrase ‘remove from play’ is being replaced with the single word ‘banish’:
Old:
Remove from play 1 face-up monster.
New:
Banish 1 face-up monster.

Cards that were ‘removed from play cards’ will now be called ‘banished cards’:
Old:
Both players Special Summon as many of their removed from play monsters as possible.
New:
Both players Special Summon as many of their banished monsters as possible.

The old ‘remove from play’ phrase could get clunky sometimes. In normal English you would say ‘remove 1 monster from play’. But that becomes a problem when it was something like ‘remove 1 face-up Warrior-Type EARTH monster with 1500 or more ATK that attacked last turn from play’. By the time you get to the words ‘from play’ at the end, you’ve forgotten where you started.

Because of this, a few years ago we shifted to ‘remove from play’ as a sort of super-keyword, that you would never break up. But it sometimes ran into other clunkiness problems.

‘Banish’ as a single word is simple, short, and clean. And will make a lot of card texts easier on the brain.

.

2. ‘Is removed from the field’ is now ‘Leaves the field’

Another problem with ‘remove from play’ is that people kept getting it mixed up with ‘remove from the field’, which is something totally different. So now these terms will be ‘banished’ and ‘leaves the field’, instead.

‘Banished’ (which used to be ‘removed from play’) means that the card goes off the board into that special place not depicted on the Game Mat.

‘Leaves the field’ (which used to be ‘is removed from the field’) means that something was on the field, then went to the Graveyard, or to the hand, or was banished. (Note that effects that activate when a card leaves the field do NOT activate if it goes from the field to the Deck, since it gets lost in the shuffle.)

Old:
When this card is removed from the field, Special Summon 1 “Reborn Tengu” from your Deck.
New:
When this card leaves the field, Special Summon 1 “Reborn Tengu” from your Deck.

The only place you’ll see ‘remove’ from now on is when removing counters. Like ‘Remove 1 Spell Counter.’

As you can see, the word ‘remove’ was pulling triple duty, to mean 3 different things. This has now been fixed.

Take a look at what this does to cards like Plaguespreader Zombie:
Old:
If you do, remove this card from play when it is removed from the field.
New:
If you do, banish this card when it leaves the field.

The new text is a lot less confusing.

.

3. Piercing Battle Damage

During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent.

You’re probably familiar with this phrase. You won’t be seeing it any more.

This effect has been around for years, but we’re simplifying the wording to just say the monster can do ‘piercing Battle Damage’.
Old:
During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent.
New:
If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing Battle Damage to your opponent.

Note that the piercing effect only applies to Battle Damage. Which means that you still need to get to damage calculation so that Battle Damage actually happens. In other words, just because the wording is changing doesn’t mean this is some magical new thing that happens when the attack is declared.

This change will also be on cards that give piercing Battle Damage to another card. Something like Dragon’s Rage would look like this:
Old:
During battle between an attacking Dragon-Type monster you control and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of the attacking monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent.
New:
Dragon-Type monsters you control inflict piercing Battle Damage when they attack a Defense Position monster.

.

4. ‘Selected as an attack target’ is now ‘targeted for an attack’

This change is pretty minor, but it makes things easier to understand, especially for new players. Let’s take Marauding Captain as an example:
Old:
Your opponent cannot select another face-up Warrior-Type monster as an attack target.
New:
Your opponent cannot target face-up Warrior-Type monsters for attacks, except this one.

The new phrasing is more direct and to-the point.

.

5. Hero monsters are now (mostly!) HERO monsters

We have 3 kinds of ‘Hero’ monsters from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX right now: Elemental Heroes, Destiny Heroes, and Evil Heroes. Coming soon we’ll be adding Masked Heroes and Vision Heroes to that list.

Right now, on cards like Elemental Hero Stratos, we write out ‘Elemental Hero, Destiny Hero, or Evil Hero card’ for effects that work on all 3 kinds. Instead of adding ‘or Masked Hero, or Vision Hero’ in the future, we’re going to pull a comic book-style retcon, and just change the names of all the GX Hero-class monsters from Hero to HERO (all-caps).

This applies to monster card names:
Elemental HERO Tempest
Destiny HERO Dasher
Evil HERO Dark Gaia

As well as effects. Elemental HERO Stratos for example would say:
Add 1 “HERO” monster from your Deck to your hand.

Spell/Trap Cards are mostly unaffected, since they have lower-case names already and are not Hero-class monsters.

There are 3 exceptions to this rule. For monsters, Hero Kid is going to stay Hero Kid since it’s not old enough to be a full-fledged HERO. On the other hand, Hero’s Bond will become HERO’S Bond. But HERO Flash!! will become Hero Flash!!.

We plan to reprint most of these cards soon with the corrected names and texts. So everyone who wants to use the revised names can play with those updated cards, to avoid confusion.

But for now, until Masked HERO and Vision HERO cards start showing up, none of this will affect your gameplay at all.

.

Keep these changes in mind as we go over the other, bigger changes you’ll be seeing on your cards very soon.

=======================

switching from gravekeepers to gladiator beast? you bet!

here is the trick.

many would have studied the mechanics of gravekeepers inside out by now, because it is always topping in major official tourneys.

so, many would have throw in things like(just to name a few).

1-2 holy light

1-2 crossout

1-2 dark imprisoning mirror

now, out of a sudden, you realize that you are facing an entirely different deck/opponent! how great! the 6-7 cards that you have carefully planned out earlier is now absolutely useless!

i have made a post quite some time ago, that sidedeck should be in a way to counter what your opponent sides in. this is the best example that i am talking about.

to sidetrack a little, that is also why infernities back in the good old days have sided in hero's rule 2, because they are afraid of d.d crow and the like. to side against what their opponent sides!

and its pretty simple in this case, all he has to do is to replace the 3 pot with 3 proving ground, gravekeeper's stele with chariot, gravekeeper monsters with gladiator beast. and you are good to go.at the same time, you can still keep that 1-2 necrovalley to counter grave-based decks.

now, laugh at your opponent when he happily draw what he had just sided.

crossout? ops...

dark mirror? ops...

holy light? ops...

just wonder, how practical is this in reality, even though he finished top 16 for the event. not yet whether he sided the same thing for YCS milan where he came in 2nd.

want to find out? test it out at your local tourneys!

Dueling Network

So, needless to mention after baha and DS promoted this site, many have flock to use the site to train and duel or whatever.

pretty good software in my opinion. in fact, it is very good considering it is free. and now we have an online platform where we can duel freely, no more stupid bots like those in the PSP game.

testing decks' consistency before you really go into buying the cards is really economical especially for budget players like myself.LOL. too poor.

=============================
and now for the things that i hate:

1. the bullshit A.S.S system.

met a few, he equip safe zone on his junk synchro, and i have 1 grepher on field. he dark hole. i said your safe zone doesnt protect your monster from it. he ASS-ed me.

he lost, so he ASS-ed me.

morale of story, really an ASS system.LOL.

2. cannot sidedeck and hence cannot test your sidedeck.

3. no rematch button whereby it resets everything and starts a new duel.

=============================

overall, pretty cool and pretty good! wonderful to those who cannot go to tourneys and practice decks very often. now we have found a new heaven for ourselves.

I am going to ENJOY now! haha!

thunder end dragon

レベル8通常モンスター×2
1ターンに1度、このカードのエクシーズ素材を取り除いて発動する事ができる。
このカード以外のフィールド上に存在するモンスターをすべて破壊する。

2 x level 8 normal monster
effect: once per turn, you can activate this effect by removing 1 of this card's exceed material monsters from play. destroy all other monsters on the field.

===============================

level 8 normal monster? reminds me of something, blue eyes white dragon...

in a demise deck!

swing of memory to get this beast out is free!

having a raigeki effect is too good!

hopefully we have other supports for this card as well. =)

maybe can form back demise.LOL!

Fish synchro

Was pretty amazed by the capabilities of fish synchro so currently am trying to play around with it.

pretty interesting.

pretty fun.

planning to do a video when i have the time to feature a deck made by my friend.

haha!

and i want that foil trunade, dark hole, mst, dust tornado etc in the new beginner's edition!

convulsion of nature

recently kinda interested in the following combo.LOL. but the cards involved is rather demanding, so its kinda tiring to get it worked.

Effect:As long as this card remains face-up on the field, both players must turn their respective Decks upside down and continue the current Duel.

Effect: Once per turn you can pay 500 Life Points to declare 1 card name. Pick up the top card from your Deck and if the card name is the one you declared, add it to your hand. If not, send the card you picked up to the Graveyard.

Effect: Once per turn, you can declare a card name, then reveal the top card of your Deck. If it is the declared card, add it to your hand. If not, return it to the top of your Deck.

===============================

pretty self-explanatory, combo involves these 2 cards, namely archfiend's oath and diviner. problem is that you had to get convulsion of nature out fast, and there is pretty limited way to get it. which is also your main engine.

pretty interesting in a doppel deck, flip deck upside down. and you saw dandy as your next card while you realize that the effect of glow up bulb hasnt been used.

seeing your opponent's card is very good too. allowing you to predict his next move. coupled with cards like mind crush, d.d.designator.LOL.

Having the diviner fast out isnt a problem. since we have deep sea diva.

imagine you have archfiend's oath and convulsion of nature out, pay 500 LP. normal summon deep sea diva, special summon out diviner, and draw 2 cards.LOL. better still, proceed to synchro for librarian. and then do whatever combos that you can think of with your current hand.

of course, that's the ideal case. and i realize the engine is pretty limited in getting it work. sigh...
